MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - Cass County Administrator Keith Berndt has pleaded “not guilty" to domestic assault charges in Moorhead.
Berndt is charged with two counts of misdemeanor domestic assault. The alleged victim is a teenage boy.
A Moorhead police report says the assault happened last month at Berndt's south Moorhead home. Police began the investigation after they were contacted by Moorhead Public School officials.
Berndt did not appear in court. The "not guilty" plea was entered on Berndt's behalf by his attorney, Lisa Borgen.
Berndt was Cass County Engineer for 19 years before he was promoted to County Administrator.
