WEST FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- West Fargo City Administrator Jim Brownlee wants to see Mike Reitan appointed Police Chief. Reitan has been Assistant Chief for nearly nine years and has been with the department 27 years.
Current Chief Arland Rasmussen retires in June.
Brownlee says he'll ask the City Commission on Monday to name Reitan the next Chief. He says Reitan is highly respected throughout the law enforcement community and does an excellent job.
Brownlee says it's not unheard of to promote from within, rather than opening the search up. He says it'll ultimately be up to the City Commission to decide how they'll handle filling the position.
