FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- Some voters showing up to vote in Tuesday's school mill levy special election in Fargo were turned away without voting because they didn't have proper identification.
A change in election law made by the last legislature now requires a current ID. Voter affidavits or the use of utility bills to show proof of residency are no longer valid.
The law took effect last august but the changes were not widely publicized.
