FARGO (KFGO-AM) - A federal judge has ordered a Bloomington Minn. man who ran an illegal North Dakota sports betting scheme to pay $250,000 in restitution.
Gerald Greenfield pleaded guilty to interstate transmittal of wagering information and conspiracy to commit money laundering. Greenfield was sentenced earlier this month to four months in prison.U.S. District Judge Ralph Erickson says the government can take Greenfield's property if he can't provide the quarter-million dollars in cash.
Greenfield is also serving a combined 68-month sentence for a Minneapolis-area mortgage fraud scheme and escape.
