BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) - A high school math teacher and one of her former students are leading an effort to honor the victims and help the survivors of the school shootings on the Red Lake Indian Reservation a decade ago.

Missy Dodds was in charge of a seventh-period study hall that day when 16-year-old Jeff Weise shot his way into her classroom during a rampage in which he killed seven people before shooting himself in Red Lake.

Dodds and then-freshman Ashley Lajeunesse, who was also in the classroom that day, say they're worried that a lot of the survivors aren't getting the help they need.

Lajeunesse has asked the tribe to sponsor a survivors fund and spent her own money on a plaque that reads, "We will remember March 21."
