FARGO (KFGO-AM0 - The Fargo city commission has approved a raised bike lane along a two block stretch of downtown NP Avenue between University Drive and 10th Street. It's a new concept to Fargo but in use in other cities around the country.
Prior to the vote, Public Works Operations Director Ben Dow told commissioners he had concerns about maintenance. He said public safety is important but he said the design will make it hard to clean and difficult for snow removal.
The bike track has the support of the Downtown Community Partnership. It will be part of a street reconstruction project this summer.
