FARGO, ND (KFGO-AM) - A Fort Yates, ND area man was arrested after federal prosecutors say doctors found several serious injuries on the man's infant daughter.
Waylon Pumpkinseed is charged with child abuse and assault resulting in serious bodily injury. An FBI affidavit says the four-month-old girl weighed approximately seven pounds when she was hospitalized Sunday. The report says x-rays revealed multiple healed and unhealed rib fractures and a skull fracture.
The affidavit says Pumpkinseed told investigators he squeezed and dropped the baby and shook her for 30-45 seconds.
Pumpkinseed remains in federal custody.
