PERHAM, MINN. (KFGO-AM) - Investigation continues in a car-train collision Tuesday night in Perham which injured the driver.
Alec Bjerke, 21, Perham is in fair condition at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.
Police Chief Jason Hoaby says an officer spotted Bjerke's car driving on the railroad tracks, several hundred feet from the nearest crossing just before it was struck by the BNSF freight train. Hoaby says the engineer saw the car lights and hit the emergency brakes and slowed but wasn't able to stop in time
