FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- When KFGO reports on people being displaced by fires or floods, you'll often hear us say "The Red Cross is assisting them with shelter and other needs". The agency couldn't do it alone. Hotels provide the rooms free of charge, and this year, 22 hotels in the F-M area have donated more than 220 rooms.
The ‘Rooms For Red Cross’ campaign plays a key role in helping disaster victims get back on their feet and give them a warm place to stay. Lodging partners donate rooms to those impacted and provide a warm place to stay until recovery begins, said Regional Communications Officer Brian Shawn.
Participating hotels include: Airport/Dome Days Inn, AmericInn Hotel & Suites, Best Western Plus Kelly Inn and Suites, Biltmore Hotel & Suites, Candlewood Suites, Courtyard by Marriott Fargo-Moorhead, Days Inn Fargo West Acres, Econo Lodge East, Fargo Inn and Suites, Grand Inn Fargo, Hilton Garden Inn, Holiday Inn, Home2 Suites by Hilton, Homewood Suites by Hilton, Hotel Donaldson, Howard Johnson Inn Fargo, Kelly Inn 13th Ave, La Quinta Inn & Suites, Radisson Hotel Fargo, Ramada Plaza & Suites, Sleep Inn & Suites, Staybridge Suites, Super 8 Motel & Suites and Wingate by Wyndham.
“We simply cannot thank these lodging partners enough,” said Chief Development Officer, Lynn Speral. “Their willingness to partner with the Red Cross on this initiative is critical for our mission of helping those affected by terrible events.”
