WAHPETON, N.D. (KFGO-AM) - Tammy Sadek says it was public pressure that led to the decision by local authorities to request additional assistance into the investigation of the death of her son Andrew Sadek.
The 20-year old student at the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton disappeared last May. His body was found two months later in the Red River near Breckenridge. He died from a gunshot wound to the head and his body was weighed down with rocks. An autopsy could not determine if the wound was self-inflicted or whether someone else shot him. Tammy Sadek believes he was murdered and she thinks the case was "being swept under the rug" and had called for a more in-depth investigation for months.
The NDSCS campus police department has been handling the investigation and made the request for help from the North Dakota and Minnesota crime bureau's. Tammy Sadek says she was notified by the regional head of the BCA about the expanded investigation.
