BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- North Dakota's Health Department says two of three suspected cases of measles in the state have tested negative for the disease.
Test results are pending on the third suspected case. Health officials say the person has been advised to avoid contact with others.
Measles is a highly contagious respiratory disease caused by a virus. It spreads through the air through coughing and sneezing. An outbreak in the U.S. began at Disneyland in December and has since been spreading beyond California.
No measles cases have been confirmed yet in North Dakota. Health officials are reminding the public about the importance of being vaccinated for the disease.
