WASHINGTON - (KFGO-AM) - A Minot native is one of three high ranking Navy officers who have received letters of censure from the Secretary of the Navy as part of a wide ranging federal investigation known as the "Fat Leonard Affair." The Department of Justice probe looked into practices between officers and a company that provides services to Navy ships oversea's.
Rear Admiral Michael Miller and the two other officers were punished for conduct while deployed on the aircraft carrier, the U-S-S Ronald Reagan in 2006.
In a statement, the Navy said, "the officers were found to have improperly accepted gifts from an prohibited source", a violation of Navy regulations.
