FARGO (KFGO-AM) - A part time employee of the Fargo park District has been fired after his arrest for allegedly driving drunk while operating a Zamboni. It happened during a Davies High School girls hockey game at the South Sports Arena Friday night. The rink is run by the Park District.

District Recreation Director, Clay Whittlesey tells KFGO News that spectators alerted others at the arena that Steve Anderson hit the boards with the big machine and appeared impaired. Police were called and arrested Anderson for DUI,

Whittlesley is thankful no one else was on the ice and the time. He says safety is the Park District's number one priority and as far as he knows, nothing like this has happened before.

Whittlesley says Anderson had passed annual background checks done on employees for the six years he worked for the Park District.
