TIOGA, N.D. (AP) - Two police officers in northwest North Dakota have been placed on paid administrative leave in connection with a shooting in June.

Sgt. Jeremiah Johnson and Officer Joshua Nelson with the Tioga Police Department were put on leave this week. Each officer is facing a reckless endangerment charge.

Brothers Joshua and Nathaniel McNally were ready to tee off at the Tioga Golf Course on June 19, when their game was interrupted by gunfire. The gunfire came from the two officers who were on duty at the time and are now on leave.

The newspaper reports Johnson was training Nelson when the incident happened and both were shooting Johnson's assault rifle into the nearby landfill.

The officers' attorney didn't immediately return a call seeking comment Saturday.
