THIEF RIVER FALLS, MINN. (KFGO-AM) An anonymous YouTube user who has been posting clips of official video of Thief River Falls City City Council meetings that mock the proceedings has so angered at least one council member that he wants to stop televising the meetings. Don Sollom, on a video clip from last week's meeting, also uploaded on YouTube by someone called the "TRF Compiler", said the council should not be subjected to this type of treatment.
Sollom's suggestion to halt televised meetings on the local cable access channel was challenged by council member Rachel Prudhomme. She said that would be censorship, citing freedom of speech. Their exchange became so heated, Mayor Jim Dagg had to interupt, telling them "that's enough."
It appears the issue will be taken up in January when a new city council is sworn in.
