FARGO (KFGO-AM) Cass County Vector Control's plan for two consecutive nights of aerial attacks on the swarms of mosquitoes out there hit a bump Wednesday night.
The chemical is temperature sensitive and the temp just before flight time was too cool. The pilot did do a familiarization flight over parts of the metro but did not spray.
Weather permitting, the air attack over Fargo, West Fargo and Moorhead will start at 6 p.m. Thursday.
Vector Control Director Ben Prather says trap numbers across the metro are higher than anytime this season thanks to rain and warm temperatures. He says it's a little usual and says last week's aerial spraying was apparently done too early as it failed to control the late season hatch of mosquitoes.
