FARGO (KFGO-AM) - The Fargo Park Board's facilities committee and Metro Sports Foundation are looking at two options to add one or two more ice rinks at Scheels Arena.
The Fargo Youth Hockey Association says the number of hockey players is growing and forcing some players to practice at night.
The facilities committee supports the option for one sheet of ice because it would not require any public money, with costs picked up by the Metro Sports Foundation. The second option, for two ice sheets, would require the Park District to own and operate the rinks and assume financial responsiblity.
Fargo resident Jackie Kodadek reminded the committee of past votes against any public financial involvement in the arena.
The Park Board will discuss the options and possibly make a decision next month.
