Fargo, ND --The Minnesota Wild announced the signing of former Fargo Force defenseman, Hunter Warner, to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Warner spent time with two teams in the USHL from 2012-14, playing with the Waterloo BlackHawks before coming to the Fargo Force via a trade during the 2013-14 season. In total, he has played in 56 games in the league, posting 13 points (2g, 11a) and totaling 134 penalty minutes.
At the start of the 2014-15 season, Warner signed with the Prince Albert Raiders in the WHL (Western Hockey League). This summer, he participated in the development camp with the Minnesota Wild as an invitee. After today’s contract signing, he now joins the Minnesota Wild’s training camp.
Warner is just the fourth Fargo Force alum to sign an NHL contract following former goaltender Mike Lee (Arizona Coyotes), defenseman Luke Witkowski (Tampa Bay Lightning) and defenseman Nate Schmidt (Washington Capitals).
