CROOKSTON, MINN. (KFGO-AM) -- Nine law enforcement officers fired their weapons as they exchanged gunfire with a man at a farm south of Crookston Thursday afternoon.

23 year-old Michael Perry was taken to jail after he was treated at a hospital for a single bullet wound. He's been charged with four counts of attempted murder of a peace officer.

The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says a bullet-resistant vest worn by Polk County Sheriff's Sgt. Brian Lundeen was struck by gunfire. Another round grazed the vest of Sheriff's Investigator Nathan Rasch.

The BCA says Perry fired on officers who'd responded to a 911 call of shots fired inside a home. He then tried to take off in a vehicle.
