FARGO (KFGO-AM) Fargo police are uncertain whether an alleged assault happened.
Officers responded to a 9-1-1 call in the 200 block of 23rd Street south around 3:30 Monday morning. Lt. Joel Vettel says the victim showed up at his girlfriend's home bleeding from a head injury and asked for help. She said she saw another male nearby holding a hammer who then walked away.
Police conducted an extensive search of the area but didn't find anything. There were no other witnesses and the information the victim has provided is unclear.
Vettel says the only thing police know now is that the man was injured but how that happened is unclear.
