Bismarck, N.D. (AP) Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem says a county must obtain a court order to authorize the sale of assets from a city that has dissolved. McKenzie County officials asked Stenehjem for an opinion on the issue. The county acquired control of the city or Rawson when it dissolved in 2002. The county now wants to sell some of the former city's property. Stenehjem says in an opinion that state law is too ambiguous at present to conclude that a county can convey title to property it acquired when a city dissolved.
