FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- Many businesses, especially bars and restaurants, were happy to see the thousands of people who packed Broadway in downtown Fargo for Saturday's ESPN College GameDay broadcast. A lot of businesses opened their doors early to accomodate all the Bison fans who were there.
While many were happy to see all the activity downtown, there are downsides to shutting down a busy street. Not only is traffic affected, but so are certain businesses. Mike Hahn of the Downtown Community Partnership says he thinks there are other options downtown to accomodate big events, such as the 2nd Ave. N. cooridor.
It's estimated up to 10,000 people attended Saturday's College GameDay broadcast.
