Shots were fired at the 800 block of 16th Avenue North in Wahpeton Sunday. One man was killed after an hour stand off with Wahpeton Police. Authorities say they were doing a welfare check. When police came to the door the man barricaded himself inside of his apartment. Police had to force entry into the apartment. They also called for backups, including a SWAT team. Police say the man hasn't had any contact with his child or mother of the child since April.Police say the case will be investigated by BCI.
