BISMARCK, ND. (KFGO AM) -- A lawmaker who helped put together the bill that led to strenghtened drunken driving laws in North Dakota says it's too early to know what type of effect its having.
The tougher penalties and fines went into effect August first.
Senator Kelly Armstrong of Dickinson says one change that may be explored is a drug court alternative for people convicted of three or more DUI's.
An interm legislative committee will recommend further changes in the 2015 session.
