BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Boardings at the eight commercial airports in North Dakota last month increased 8 percent over the year.
The state Aeronautics Commission says the airports in Dickinson, Fargo, Grand Forks, Minot and Williston all posted their best passenger numbers on record for the month of March.
The oil patch airports of Williston and Dickinson continue to show the biggest percentage increases, at 26 percent and 163 percent respectively. Fargo had the biggest growth in actual passengers, with nearly 4,200 more over the year.
The state is averaging 75 airline departures per day, with 12 nonstop destinations available. That compares with 52 departures per day to 8 nonstop destinations in 2008.
