FORMAN, N.D. (KFGO-AM) -- Sargent County Sheriff Travis Paeper is upset with his county commission and state's attorney. Paeper says a county road department employee was found passed out, drunk, in a grader near Forman last week. The discovery was made by county commissioners, two state DOT employees and others who were on a tour of recent road projects. Paeper says he believes that his office should have been contacted immediately.

Commissioner Steve Wyum says State's Attorney Lyle Bopp was contacted and decided how to handle the issue. Bopp says he had concerns about potential liability for the county and he won't comment on the sheriff's criticism.

Donald Marquette had worked for the road department for about nine years. Faced with termination, Marquette resigned last Friday.
