MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO AM) -- MSU-M is continuing the search for its 11th president to take over when Edna Szymanski retires at the end of June.
Three candidates are in the running, including MSU-M Povost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, Anne Blackhurst.
Blackhurst says she's aware of the challenges the university faces due to declining enrollment, budget cuts and layoffs.
She says she'd like to boost enrollment from 6,000 to 7,500 students.
The other two candidates, Sam Minner and Carlos Vargas-Aburto, who are college or university administrators in Virginia and Pennsylvania will also be on campus this week, taking part in forums.
Minner will speak today and Vargas-Aburto will speak Friday.
Both are at 1:00 PM on Gaede Stage at MSU-M.
The University System Board of Trustees is scheduled to make a selection April 23rd.
