GRAND FORKS (KFGO-AM) -- A Grand Forks woman is charged with 13 counts of felony child abuse or neglect for allegedly abusing her grandchildren, who are between the ages of 4 and 9.
Court documents show Jacqueline Peltier taped a 4 year old boy's eyes shut when he was put to bed to force him to sleep and taped them open during the day so he could not sleep. She's also accused of stitching up a cut on a 5 year old's head. The children told investigators that Peltier would force them to eat spoonfuls of hot sauce.
Peltier's daughter, Jenelle Gourd, 28, and another woman, Alyssa Demarrias, 22, are also charged in the case. They're accused of not stopping the abuse, and instead videotaping the acts.
The children are in protective custody.
