BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) -- North Dakota University System officials say identity protection and credit checking services will be provided for one year in the wake of a security breach on a computer server. Interim Chancellor Larry Skogen told lawmakers that the service will begin Friday for affected students and faculty.

A call center for people with questions also will be available beginning Friday. Skogen announced earlier this month that records of more than 290,000 current and former students and about 780 faculty and staff were housed on the server. Skogen says there is no evidence that any personal information has been accessed.
