FARGO (KFGO-AM) The Fargo City Hall Building Committee had its first detailed look at a revised concept for the new city government center.

Architects are still fine tuning the design and will report back within a month with cost estimates. The City has budgeted $15 million dollars for the project but the price tag is expected to go up. Mayor Dennis Walaker says the process is going "nicely" but he says everyone's waiting for one thing...and that's the cost.

The design splits city offices and commission chambers between a 3 story building and a two story building with an atrium and contains lots of glass, metal, brick and stone. It includes 120 parking spaces beneath the building and a skyway connected to the Civic Center.

Because of space considerations needed for the new downtown floodwall, the new city hall will be set back further from 2nd street, requiring the demolition of Centennial Hall.
