FARGO, N.D. (KFGO-AM) - Lawyers for suspended West Fargo teacher Aaron Knodel say there's no reason to delay his re-trial on sexual misconduct charges.

The judge set the second trial for June 23rd after he declared a mistrial.

Prosecutors, who have given indications that they will try him again, say they'd need more time to prepare, notify witnesses, and make a decision on whether to ask that the case be moved out of Fargo.

The defense says the delay isn't justified and the case shouldn't linger on for several more months.

Knodel could only be re-tried on two of the five original charges of having a sexual relationship with a student six years ago.

Eleven members of the 12-person jury told the judge that they agreed to find Knodel not guilty after one juror was taken to a hospital during deliberations.
