BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A North Dakota man says he will plead guilty to an assault that injured a Bureau of Indian Affairs officer.
A plea agreement calls for Brandon Belgarde, of Rugby, to plead guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon, and assaulting and resisting a federal officer. In exchange for the deal, a third charge of damage to government property would be dropped.
Authorities say the November 2014 incident involved a motor vehicle. No further details have been released.
Belgarde faces a maximum penalty of 30 years in prison on the two counts.
A federal public defender could not be reached for comment.
