FARGO, N.D. (KFGO-AM) - The sexual misconduct case against suspended West Fargo teacher Aaron Knodel may be headed back to a courtroom.
A district judge has approved the request for a mistrial.
The attorney general’s office, which prosecuted Knodel, must now decide whether to re-try Knodel on two of the five counts against him.
The jury, during deliberations, indicated that it would vote to find him not guilty on three counts.
That came after a member of the jury was taken to a hospital. She told deputies in the ambulance that she had been a victim of sexual abuse and was the lone hold-out to convict Knodel of having a sexual relationship with a student about six years ago when she was a senior in high school.
The court has scheduled a trial date of June 23rd.
