GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Grand Forks Mayor Michael Brown says he'll continue his mayoral duties as he recovers from open-heart surgery, though he's taken a leave of absence from his duties as a doctor with Altru Health.
Brown on Wednesday issued a statement saying he underwent the triple-bypass surgery on May 14. He said he is scheduled for cardiac rehabilitation and expects to make a full recovery.
Brown said he expects to resume his work as a doctor in 4-6 weeks.
