GRAND FORKS (KFGO-AM) -- Grand Forks Police confirm two people are dead following a shooting inside the Walmart at 2551 32nd Ave. S.
Police were called to the store just after 1 a.m. Tuesday. They found multiple shooting victims who were taken to Altru hospital. The police department confirms there are two deaths as a direct result of this incident. All names are being withheld at this time pending family notification.
The Air Force has issued a press release saying a Grand Forks Air Force Base airman was involved in the shooting. It did not say if the Airman was the shooter or one of the vicitms.
Police say this is an active and ongoing investigation however they don't believe there is any further ongoing immediate public safety risk at this time.
Police, Swat and the BCI are on the scene.
