BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - Gov. Jack Dalrymple has directed all government agencies to fly the United States and North Dakota flags at half-staff Monday in observance of Memorial Day.

His proclamation is in accordance with one signed by President Barack Obama.

Dalrymple is also asking state residents to observe the president's request that Americans unite in prayer at 11 a.m. local time and that a moment of silence be observed at 3 p.m. for the National Moment of Remembrance.

Dalrymple and first lady Betsy Dalrymple will commemorate Memorial Day by attending a ceremony at the Riverside Cemetery in Fargo beginning at 11 a.m.

Lt. Gov. Drew Wrigley will commemorate the day by attending a ceremony at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck and another event at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery near Mandan.
