GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Eight North Dakota lawyers have applied to fill the vacancy created by the retirement of Northeast Central District Judge Lawrence Jahnke.
The judgeship is based in Grand Forks and covers the counties of Grand Forks and Nelson. A nominating committee will interview the candidates and make its recommendations to Governor Jack Dalrymple.
The applicants are Gretchen Handy, Jason McCarthy, Kerry Rosenquist, Theodore Sandberg and John Thelen, all of Grand Forks; Cherie Clark and Connie Cleveland, both of Fargo; and Nancy Yon, of Thompson.
