Cause of Otter Tail Co. condo fire undetermined

OTTERTAIL CITY, MN (KFGO-AM) -- The cause of a fire that destroyed a condominium complex on Otter Tail Lake cannot be determined.

Sheriff's Dept. Lt. Barry Fitzgibbons says a deputy state fire marshal was not able to come with up with a cause for the Wed. afternoon blaze, but it is not considered suspicious.

Members of the Underwood High School golf team and others helped rescue some residents of Balmoral Boardwalk on Hwy. 78.

Fitzgibbons says a preliminary damage estimate of $750,000 to $800,000 does not include personal property.

Firefighters from Battle Lake, Henning, Perham and Ottertail responded to the scene.
