FARGO (KFGO-AM)-- More than 14,000 Fargo voters cast ballots during Tuesday's special election for mayor, city commission and a home rule charter question asking whether a commissioner should have to resign in order to run for mayor.
Tim Mahoney easily won the mayor's race. He had 8,575 votes to Brad Wimmer's 5,853 votes.
Tony Gehrig was the top vote-getter in the race for City Commissioner. He received 3,172 votes. John Strand came in second with 3,034 votes, followed by Mara Brust with 2,913 votes.
The home rule charter question was approved 8,037 votes to 6,216.
