ST.PAUL, Minn. (KFGO AM) -- Governor Dayton says he'll include $3.5 million dollars in his supplemental state budget proposal to make sure no Minnesota student is denied a hot lunch at school.
Dayton's pledge is prompted by a new report showing many schools refuse hot lunches to students who can't pay.
Minneapolis Senator Jeff Hayden sponsored a bill that moved partway through the legislature last session.
Hayden says he hopes to pass his bill the first week after lawmakers return to St. Paul at the end of this month.
