MOORHEAD (KFGO-AM) - A subcommittee of representatives of Fargo and Moorhead met for the first time Tuesday to discuss a shuttle bus route connecting the two downtown's and it looks like it might work.
Moorhead city leaders, at first hesitant about the request by Fargo to use city owned parking space at the Center Mall to alleviate parking issues in Fargo, have changed their minds. Fargo City Commissioner Mike Williams says the proposal is not just a solution to city hall parking issues. He says the circulator bus route should be long term and can be a great economic development tool for both downtown's. He says "there's no losers in this deal."
Moorhead City Council member Steve Gerhtz says there are some details to work out but he sees it as a "win-win."
Willliams would like to see the circulator route running by mid-May. if it doesn't work out, Williams says Fargo will find another solution to parking space shortages.
