WASHBURN, N.D. (AP) - A change-of-plea hearing has been scheduled for a Fargo woman who pleaded not guilty earlier to negligent homicide in a fatal all-terrain vehicle incident in McLean County.
Carla Keller is accused of being drunk while operating an ATV that vaulted off an approach last August, throwing a passenger. Forty-nine-year-old Patrick Anderson, of Bismarck, later died of his injuries.
Keller was to stand trial this week on a negligent homicide charge that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison. The trial was canceled and a change-of-plea hearing was scheduled for May 4.
Keller also faces a misdemeanor charge of operating an ATV while under the influence.
