FARGO, N.D. - A Fargo group called Folkways is trying to engage the community by walking. The group is posting signs in Fargo to provide awareness of landmarks in the metro and how long it would take to walk to each one.
You can find the signs along the cross streets of Broadway downtown.
The goal is to make Fargo the most walkable city in the country. People seem to like the idea.Josh Christy, Fargo: "I think it's pretty neat. I think it's definitely something that out of towners or people coming in for the weekend will be able to utilize more and navigate downtown. If you can make the downtown area more walkable and less dependent on cars that's a win."
Moorhead also has a similar project in the works aiming to extend the efforts of a more walkable community.
