BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) The North Dakota Game and Fish Department is prohibiting open burning this spring on the Oahe Wildlife Management Area along both sides of the Missouri River south of Bismarck-Mandan.
The move is being made to reduce the potential for wildfires in the heavily wooded recreation area used by anglers, campers and other outdoors enthusiasts. The ban includes campfires.
The Oahe WMA covers more than 16,000 acres along the Missouri River and Lake Oahe in portions of Burleigh, Emmons, and Morton counties.
