JAMESTOWN (KFGO-AM) --A Jamestown police officer and Stutsman county sheriff's deputy are on administrative leave following an overnight shooting in Jamestown.

Police say they were called just after midnight Tuesday about an intoxicated person leaving a convenience store. As an officer approached, the driver took off at a high rate of speed, ramming 2 squads.   Police say the suspect stopped several times, but would take off each time officers approached.

The officer and deputy fired at the fleeing driver after he nearly ran over an officer. The suspect was hit. He was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. He's facing multiple charges of drunk driving, fleeing, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief.

The North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigation will investigate what led up to the shooting.
