MOORHEAD, Minn. (KFGO-AM) - Police are searching for a lone robber who held up a south Moorhead restaurant.
The robbery was reported at around 3:15 pm Tuesday at Little Caesars Pizza at 800 Holiday Drive, just east of 8th St. and north of Interstate 94.
Police Lt. Tory Jacobson says the suspect was described as a thin, black male, in his mid-20's, wearing brown camouflage pants and a gray sweatshirt. His face was concealed by a mask.
Jacobson says the robber had a black handgun. He demanded money from an employee and fled the restaurant northbound on foot.
Ellen Hopkins School was placed in lockdown for a short time, but students were later dismissed.
Police canvassed a wide area around the restaurant on foot and in vehicles. A canine was used to try to pick up a track.
Jacobson says police would review surveillance video to try to learn more about the robbery. At least one witness said the man was in the area for about 10 minutes prior to the holdup.
