FARGO (AP) - A 20-year-old Grand Forks man has pleaded guilty to five counts for his role in a case involving numerous overdoses centered on the powerful synthetic drug powdered fentanyl.

The charges against Ryan Jensen include distributing a controlled substance resulting in injury and death, and money laundering. Authorities say two people died and three others became sick from drugs obtained by Jensen and other defendants.

Joshua Fulp, David Noye Jr. and Kain Schwandt pleaded not guilty earlier to dealing drugs that resulted in injury in death, which carries a maximum penalty of life in prison. They are scheduled for trial on April 28.

The plea agreement unsealed Wednesday says Jensen played "an aggravating role'' in the drug ring and deserves credit of accepting responsibility for his actions. Sentencing is May 20.
