GRAND FORKS (KFGO-AM) -- A man was shot by a University of North Dakota police officer at the conclusion of a pursuit early Saturday morning. He's identified as David Elliott, 41, of Grand Forks.
The pursuit, which involved Grand Forks police, the Grand Forks County sheriff's office and state patrol, ended in the parking lot of Altru Hospital.
UND Police say the officer fired into the Elliott's vehicle and shot him. Elliott is in the hospital. His condition has not been released. The officer is on adminstrative leave. Neither Grand Forks County Sheriff Bob Rost nor UND Police Chief Eric Plummer will give details on what led to the pursuit or whether Elliot was armed.
The state bureau of criminal investigation is handling the investigation.
