FARGO (KFGO-AM) -- A judge has been asked to order the release of the medical records of a former West Fargo High School student who has accused a high school teacher of having a sexual relationship with her.
The prosecutor wants the information limited to what the alleged victim told a doctor about what may have taken place between the girl and Aaron Knodel.
Knodel, a former state teacher of the year who was suspended last summer, is accused of having sex with the then-17 year-old girl at his home, in his classroom and in his car. Knodel's lawyer says he needs the medical records to show that the girl had mental health issues long before Knodel was charged and that her credibility could be in question.
A ruling on the issue and other pre-trial motions is expected at another hearing early next month. Knodel's trial is set for March 24.
