Fargo is looking at installing digital pay stations at several downtown parking lots, making it easy to pay with cash, credit card or by license identification.
City Planner Joe Nigg says the idea is to install pay stations at the NP Avenue and 2nd Avenue parking lots with more added later at other city-owned surface lots and ramps.
As part of a contract deal, the city's new parking management company will fund up to $33,000 in automation improvements. Similar digital pay stations are already in use at several locations on the campuses of NDSU and MSUM.
Friday, the Parking Commission will discuss implementing the plan.
